Today the second USB port died on my 4-PC KVM switch. With that I'm now only able to use it with 2 PCs and I need a minimum of 3. Since it boosted my productivity (apart from being very convenient), I just ordered a new one (the successor). Will have to wait another 10 days or so for delivery.

ich fasse es nicht: neulich habe ich versucht, hier einen KVM-Switch von #TESmart zu installieren: geht ganz gut, wenn man davon absieht, dass ein HDMI-Output kein Signal liefert.
Ich habe darauf hin nun einen KVM-Switch von #Ugreen kommen lassen und stöpsele den gerade an und ... GENAU das gleiche Problem?
Ein HDMI-Output bringt kein Signal raus.
Zufall?
Das Problem sitzt vor dem Switch?
Was mache ich falsch?

Now I am in USB HELL because I run TB4 dock (#caldigit TS4) to #tesmart KVM to which I connect keyboard and webcam so that I can switch between work, private and gaming computer. Apparently on M* Macs you can't have more than 4 chained USB hubs... #fml

Starting to take shape: I’m combining PiKVM and a TESmart HKS0801A1U 8x1 HDMI KVM to access my homelab devices. I started with an unused Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, and just added the KVM.
Still sorting out how to get PiKVM to control input switching. The TESmart config utility (Windows only, “unhandled exception” errors) and networking (fixed IP address, no DHCP) leave a lot to be desired. Hopefully I can get remote input switching working.

All the problems I had with the PiKVM and TESmart KVM switch were fixed with this one cheap little device.

I have a 3 monitor KVM setup that I hacked together with a Tesmart dual monitor KVM, a usb switch and a HDMI switch… the heart of this system is a custom controller I built.
This switched powered by an arduino mini allows me to put any monitor on any one of the 4 systems connected. It also allows me to switch keyboard/mouse input around as needed.
