  6. And so the big news - my experiential art / feature #film SAIVO is now available to rent or buy here:

    saivofilm.com

The film was made at the Isogaisa #festival of #shamanism in Norway and follows #Sami #shamans and many others from around the world sharing their #spiritual #traditions with each other. It’s intentionally slow paced (#SlowCinema) and intended to be viewed as a ritual, meditation or prayer. I hope you enjoy it - please share here and elsewhere if you do!

Jeanne Dielman (#DelphineSeyrig) routinely prepares meals, cleans the house, mothers her teenage son (#JanDecorte in his salad days), and sees clients in #ChantalAkerman's Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (1975). Until something breaks and her carefully nurtured practices slowly unravel ☞ write.underworld.fr/settima/je

  8. Last night's viewing: "Twilight" (1990). Superior Hungarian film, and one for devotees of 'Slow Cinema'. Via the Second Run blu-ray. #Cinemastodon #Filmastodon #SlowCinema #Bluray

  9. Finally watched Jeanne Dielman (1975). I loved it, and wouldn't hesitate to call it a masterpiece, but approach with caution unless you have the patience for *radically* slow avant-garde films

Here's a short introduction from writer–director Chantal Akerman:

  10. Little Forest 2018 ‘리틀 포레스트’ Directed by Yim Soon-rye

A young woman leaves the city to return to her hometown in the countryside. Seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, she becomes self-sufficient in a bid to reconnect with nature. #Korea #Korean #Cinema #Asiancinema #Slowcinema

  11. Walker 2012 ‘行者’ Directed by Tsai Ming-liang

A metaphor for mourning as much as it is a reminder to slow down. Stunningly beautiful, Walker features acteur Lee Kang-Sheng as a red-robed monk barely locomoting through the bustling streets of Hong Kong. Can you hear the noise, the constant noise? #Taiwan #Cinema #Film #Slowcinema #Meditation #Hongkong

  12. @GwynMoxham Not seen those, but I like the #SlowCinema idea. If I made more time for it, I would enjoy watching slower films several times, snoozing through different parts each time. I still love the 'interstitials' in Ghost in the Shell as much as the rest of the film.

  13. So who here is into #SlowCinema? I’m thinking of films like Frammartino’s “Le Quattro Volte” and Ben Rivers “Two Years At Sea” or “A Spell To Ward Off The Darkness”. If so, do you watch these kind of #movies online or do you only have the attention to do so in the cinema?
