The attentive viewer will have noticed that I have not been very forthcoming with more information about the planned retrospective of my films at Cinema Nova in Brussels the coming weekend; Due to previously unplanned renovation works Nova is opening a few weeks later this year, so unfortunately we had to postpone the programmes with a focus on my work.

Das Werner Herzog Experiment – „About a Hero“ (2024)
Dieser Krimi-Film-Fake will keine Antworten geben, sondern Fragen verschärfen. Ein Fabrikarbeiter stirbt, irgendwo in einer Stadt, die so fiktiv klingt, dass sie real wirken könnte. Was bleibt, ist ein Rätsel, das sofort ausfranst. Erzählt wird mit einer Stimme, die nach Werner Herzog klingt, aber nicht Herzog ist, sondern eine KI, gefüttert mit seinem Tonfall, seinen Sätzen, seinen Obsessionen. Parallel dazu tauchen ganz reale Stimmen auf: Philosoph:innen, Künstler:innen, Intellektuelle, die in kurzen Interventionen die großen Fragen verhandeln. (ARTE, TV-Premiere)
