Habe heute meinen Qidi Q1 Pro auf FreeDi* umgeflashed, weil es mich zunehmend störte, dass das Debian/Klipper da so alt war, dass ich kein Spoolman nutzen konnte. Bin noch am einrichten, aber er fühlt sich jetzt nochmal ne Nummer besser an.

#3DPrinting folks, I am writing because I wanted to know if anyone knows of a way to run an STL file and convert it in to a GCODE specifically to make it possible to run the calibration tests on the #Qidi #Q1Pro? Its hard to run the calibration tests if you can't see the screen, and because I am #Blind, its doubly hard to be able to run the calibration without sighted assistance so I am trying to find an easier way to do this and I figured people might have come up with easier ways just in case you don't have access to the screen or just don't feel like getting up tomanually use the screen to print.

#3DPrinting folks, particularly anyone who might know #Python, I am looking in to possibly finding a way to make it possible to create a custom version of Klipperscreen that would be able to interact with the Orka Screenreader for linux. You see, the goal is to make it possible for a #Blind person to be able to use the touch screen of a printer like the #Qidi #Q1Pro for example without having to rely on Octoprint or other types of software to control there printer, instead using there printer directly via the touch screen alone. I don't know how possible this would actually be. I am thinking perhaps creating a UI that would be able to interact with the event handling for klipperscreen andseeing if it would be possible for Orka to interact with those events and read them out if they were properly labeled for acccessibility. Not sure how possible this is, but I figured I'd ask anyone more experienced if this is just a pie in the sky idea or not. Both Orka and Klipperscreen are created using Python, so I don't see how it couldn't be possible, Orka is pretty small, so it might not even be a strain on the resources of the printer.

Hi, is anyone here using a #Ratrig #3dPrinter? I recently got an A1 mini to try the Bambu experience in await of their next big release but I’m reconsidering this now for … reasons. So I took a glance at Ratrig as they offer an IDEX upgrade. So my questions: do they work stable, can calibrate automatically and print without further fiddling once build and set up?

@a32 @3ddruck 2. berichten, dass ich bei meiner Suche auf den #qidi 4Plus, #qidi4plus, gestoßen bin (sehr neu), der viele gute Features zu haben scheint und auf Klipper basiert und damit vielleicht nicht ganz so arg Cloud-gebunden bzw. etwas freier ist als ein #BambuLab. Die ersten Videos/Rewievs sehen ganz vielversprechend aus. Auch den #creality K1 (evtl. auch K2) habe ich noch auf der Liste.

Can anyone good at 3D printers help me troubleshoot? I got a #QIDI Tech Q1 Pro and it was good for 3 prints but on the 4th print it failed and was stringy, then when it tried to ‘home’ it kept pushing the build plate into the print head. Now when it tries to extrude nothing comes out and it makes a really loud clicking sound. :(

This video pretty well shows how important good part cooling is while printing. The #BambuLab #X1C isn't that good doing this job. The #QIDI Q1 Pro does it way better.

What I do like about the XL is that they actually use Gcode. For example the #Qidi and #Creality printers have these built in Gcodes. So even with a vanilla #Klipper install, part of the starting Gcode is hidden begind these macros, unless you completely re-write them.

The XL actually uses the slicer Gcode for stuff like toolchangea. So you are able to change and tweak a lot.

@koz Remember complaining about airflow under the print head shell on your X-Plus 3? Qidi have a new front and back print head shell that incorporate cute, tiny little 5V 20x6 mm fans that piggyback off the 24V heat sink cooling fan through a small breakout board with a regulator. They have a lot more slots for moving cooling air than the originals, as well as the fans to move air through. They sent the set to me because I was getting communication errors from klipper failing to talk to the print head daughterboard.

I imagine that could help with your heat creep problems, if you don't already have it.

Over the past couple days, I designed and made a replacement carbon + HEPA filter for my Qidi X-Max 3. I generally like the X-Max 3, but removing the small carbon granule bag they ship is difficult, and there's no UFP filtration at all. I've completely removed the original filter, and replaced it with a unit that sits outside the printer, holds several times as much carbon for better VOC adsorbtion, and has HEPA filtration for UFP.

It's cheap, quick, and easy to upgrade. Four hours of printing, and a few minutes of assembly.

While this design is nothing like the Nevermore Micro, the HEPA filters are the same used in the Nevermore Micro v6 XL, and I heartily recommend the Nevermore, which I use in my other printer, where there is room to add it. I acknowledge my debt to that project; if it didn't exist I probably wouldn't have actually made this. ❤️

I bought Qidi's webcam right after it was pre-released, and it arrived a few days ago.

This evening I installed it in my X-Max 3. It is meant to go in the upper front right corner of the printer. It has a slot to fit onto the frame, and thumbscrews to lock it in place.

It interferes with homing.

Not sure how this got through testing, but it's seriously unimpressive.

Back to the webcam that I designed a mount for and installed in the back. This one is useless.

I regret the waste of money.
