PIAAC-Ergebnisse zeigen eine alarmierende Entwicklung: Die Unterschiede in der Lesekompetenz Erwachsener in Österreich haben sich innerhalb von elf Jahren deutlich vergrößert.

Besonders betroffen sind Berufsgruppen mit mittleren und niedrigen Qualifikationsanforderungen, während Menschen mit hohen Bildungsabschlüssen ihre Lesekompetenz weitgehend halten konnten.

Here’s the news release from earlier this month from the Council of Ministers of Education Canada(CMEC) on the OECD release of the broader Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC).

The message is that education matters: “adults holding bachelor’s degrees or higher consistently outperforming those with lower levels of education.”
