PERPLEXITY
Acrylic and Gold leaf 23.75ct on paper, hand-cut, assembled on mount board. 64x64 cm.Inspired by an Ibn Arabi quote: "I threw myself into perplexity and He left me swimming in it."
The word ḥīra حيرة here eludes any recognition unless you know it’s there. The pattern was cut out from a single sheet of black card, which adds to the confusion by casting shadows where it is lifted.

#Introduction time! 😁 I'm a #nonbinary, #disabled, #chronically_ill, #neurodivergent artist and crafter living in #Norway, but from the US originally (my hubby is Norwegian). I mainly work in traditional and digital media (mostly #Medibang). Animals are my usual subject.
