  1. Post for a late / early #SolarPunkSunday... #OwlCams! Check out the baby #Owlets!

"The #GreatHornedOwlCam just got a whole lot cuter this week thanks to two new arrivals. Athena, the female owl, stood watch over the nest as her first egg hatched a down-covered owlet on April 8 after 34 days of incubation. The second owlet arrived two days later, on April 10. Over the next six weeks, viewers will get an intimate look at the nestling period of one of the sky’s most formidable predators."

  2. It's impossible that a director as HUGE as #ZackSnyder directing a largely forgotten CG #animated #movie about #EdgelordOwls has avoided any and all criticism of his #DickBirb tale: "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole".

At least 1 person created at least 1 #VideoEssay systematically tearing this movie apart AND this video received lots of positive reactions and social media spread. It's impossible that this didn't happen. AND YET…

…according to #Google's lying results, there is nothing but ebulient praise and fans fawning over Zach Snyder entirely juvenille, locked in teenage boy morality, fascist grooming yarn about #Owls and #Owlets, aka #DickBirds that are dumb as rocks.

My request today is the same as yesterday. Please reply with the URL of ANY video on #YouTube or #Vimeo criticising — ideally lambasting — The Legend of Ga'Hoole's cinematic adaption.

    Nothing good it seems:

… given the fact that the snakes are still sometimes eaten by the owlets (and don't survive well once the nest is vacated), this might really by a commensal relationship, where one species reaps a benefit and the other does its best to deal with the situation.

  9. One year ago today I was watching a nesting pair of #GreatHornedOwls tending to their #owlets. They were in an old squirrel nest visible from the top story of my #PDX home. I set up my camera to look through a telescope to take photos.

  10. The #GreatHornedOwls had gotten soaked in a deluge. Unfortunately the new “nest” didn’t have much shelter and by then the parents roosted nearby but not with the #owlets. Didn’t take too long for them to dry off.
