I found #Espanso. Almost gave up on it. Had trouble getting started finding* base.yml on my MacBook and making sense of the instructions. By accident*, I got to the base.yml and got it to open in the text editor.

On Friday I did something I normally wouldn't do. I knee-jerk clicked a link in an email. #OnlyHuman 😖

It took me to what looked like a website's plain text error page.

I panicked. Asked Copilot what to do since it's sitting there in my browser, then turned off my 💻's #wifi.

I Slacked my bosses 📱. 1 replied saying probably nothing bad happened and if I wanted to be sure I could reset my MacBook to start all fresh.

Advice? Suggestions?

Now and then, I encounter [US] websites that I can't view unless I use VPN. I only use a #freeWebProxy because I don't want to install another app on my computer. And I only need it for work sometimes. It's just annoying when I can't view fancy* webpages properly on a free web proxy. The website just looks broken.

I normally use VPNbook web proxy. I've also tried Hidester. It's dead now, I think.

Recommendations?

Is there any danger to visiting a #website that got hacked?

Didn't click anything. Just went to the website, found some evil #hacker with nothing better to do had taken over the site, and immediately closed the browser tab. Anything for me to worry about? 😶🍪

Finally got my #mastohost instance* thingy sorted out.

I was hanging out on the Moon. Turns out it was time to upgrade and move to a Planet... since December! 🫣

I need to get better at consistently checking all* my emails. 😁 I got too many #email accounts and aliases. And I haven't even gotten around to using my own domain for emails yet.

Gee, I need a better system. I'm not the only one with a bazillion email addresses and accounts, am I? 😅 #NotATechie

Is there a limit to how many extension displays* a #computer can have?

Right now I got a #MacBook M1 connected to an external monitor via HDMI (via a hub). 💻🖥️

I'd like to add another. 🖥️

The hub's HDMI port is already taken by the current monitor. 🖥️ It still has a VGA, USB-C and USB ports. Saw some modestly-sized external monitor online 🏪 that will supposedly connect via USB.

Before I buy, any reason or chance that hub USB ports would not work with a 3rd display?

I didn't see the size limit per app. The pika website doesn't spell out what they mean by "minimum required resources", and what it'll cost extra later if I go beyond the limit. 😕

Does #MastoHost even have/keep our actual payment details? ❔ They just know our method of payment and ID, I think. (I'd be worried of they hacked PayPal or my bank.) If it's a plain #DDoS issue then I guess their purpose is to just take the site/server down, not steal payment info. #NotATechie

I've now blocked all new followers from that instance. None of them seem legit to me. But I haven't blocked the entire instance. I just use a proper universal travel adapter. 🤷‍♀️ And i make sure the gadgets and chargers I buy will work with 110 and* 220v.

I and my gadgets have been safe so far. No buzzy blitzy, explosive or electrifying moments.

I used to have Namecheap as my #webhost. Got sick of them and now my webhost is #CrazyDomains. I think they're Australian. My needs are simple, so I can't say if they'll meet your needs. I got their cheapest plan -- which is more than enough for li'l me.

No complaints so far. Oh, and they helped me make the move too. 👍
