modern website UI roundtrip latency (from user input event requesting new page to output finish of its fetching/rendering): anywhere from 2000 to 15000 ms, with p90 of say 4000 ms
BBS (equiv UX): anywhere from 15 ms to 1000 ms, with p90 of say 100 ms

I've been a new BBS or two every week lately. I am not always happy with their features/content or S/N value but I am always happy with their UIs, latency, overall efficiency, privacy and neuro-cognitive easyness (easy on my eyes and brain.)
