Yep, finally replaced the two fuses and this #PSOne seems to work just fine.
I also added a #modchip, because why not.

I'll also have a small PCB printed that will add a buffer between the internal TTL serial signals and an external connector. Could come in handy in future.

A pre-loved PlayStation 1 mod chip, which before I opened this console I had no idea was fitted...

Oddly, there was a scrap of paper inside with the year 1998 on it, I think to stop it shorting out against the metal or for exploring retro enthusiasts? 🤔

A bonus really, with it sat pins in the air with connections straddling the board. Yes this is as sexy as retro can be sometimes, an interesting find.
