  1. #TauntingBoard has finally been released!
    It's an #Apple2 #MockingBoard clone(ish) with a few changes I'd dare call improvements.

It's free for everyone: print it, build it, enjoy it.

Thanks for #PCBWay for sponsoring not one, but two prototype runs for this board!

Boost if you wish (appreciated!) and/or donate a few credits via Ko-Fi if you want and have some to spare (Not essential, but they'll be used to help pay for components for future projects: believe me, they're helpful, vet expenses are eating away most of disposable income lately).

  6. One of the things I would have loved to have for my Apple IIe clone when I was a fairly broke teenager was a Mockingboard card.

Really thinking of of getting the ReactiveMicro clone, but I'm wondering if I should wait for a Pico-based re-creation first (something similar to the PicoGUS). Anyone know of if people are working on such a project, because I wouldn't mind sending them money once they have a product.

  8. So finally I checked why the #Mockingboard by ReactiveMicro outputs a crappy sound while the Mockingboard 4C (for Apple IIc/IIc+ only) by Ian Kim outputs a perfect sound.

Looks like the RM one uses LM386N-1 to amplify the sound for (4Ω?) speakers while the one by Ian Kim has a dual output: 1 for speakers w/volume control + 1 AUX output with line level audio.

I don't get why the one by ReactiveMicro is so 1980... now I need to figure out how to make it spit an AUX level audio output with my crap electronic skills 😑

  9. I'm thinking about designing a #Mockingboard clone board for the #AppleII that can take either an AY-3-8913 or AY-3-8910. The reason is that the 8910 can be literally 1/10th the price of the 8913 that Mockingboards normally use. I really want to run more #demoscene productions on my Apple IIe 😁
