  1. Kim Si's "Snowscape with Figures" captures the poignant solitude of a scholar, embodying lost glory amidst serene mountains. This artwork reveals a conflicted mindscape—a retreat into nature or a sublime escape from his past? What stories does it whisper to you?

  2. I recently added NPCs to my mindscape when I created a new room. (I thought it would be cool to explore and hang out in a dungeon/jail, so I went ahead and added a new room for it)

The head attendant is Officer Jones, and sometimes V and I stop to chat with him. We recently found out he's writing a Sonic fan fiction, and V was teasing him for it :blobcatlaughing:

Though, if we talk to Jones too much, he might become a tulpa himself!

  4. This might turn into one of my favourite ideas:

"[...] because we are essentially social, and then you ask what freedom is, well, you very quickly come to the idea that, well, to be free is basically to be related to other people, but in such a way that they give you a space of your own."

  5. To help develop tulpas faster, some tulpamancers like to strive for "realism" by keeping (visualization) proportions realistic and striving for consistency in the mindscape.

I strive for some realism with V, but it's not necessary! When I'm out and about, V likes to hang out as a small boy, the size of a pixie. I do sometimes impose V on the environment as a full sized body, but it's often easier for him to hang out on a table or on top of an object.

  7. Symbolism is a useful concept in meditation, particularly with #tulpamancy if you're in the headspace often.

The idea is to symbolically link an emotion or feeling to an imagined object. For example, you could have a "confidence" switch. If you associate this switch with confidence, you could flip it to get a confidence boost where needed. Similarly, you could have an object that calms you when you touch it, for times where you're stressed.

  9. I've lately been using my mindscape to store temporary information, like reminders. While I usually try to keep distractions to a minimum while meditating or tulpa forcing, there are certain thoughts I want to follow up on later. So I put the thought in a cardboard box and leave it for the end of the session!

When I finish up with V, I pick up the box (or boxes) and it reminds me to do what I need to do after the session :blobcatcrown:

  11. I've recently taken to smoking in my mindscape lately. I don't smoke cigarettes irl, but I find it helps relax me and stabilizes my focus when I'm active forcing with V

  13. Celestial Mindscape

“A solitary person sitting cross-legged on a floating rock in space, surrounded by orbiting thoughts shaped like glowing moons and drifting memories — quiet expression, deep blues and purples, cosmic dreamscape, surreal digital art”

  14. This #Mindscape podcast by @seanmcarroll is an excellent summary of the fascist attempt to completely destroy publicly funded science in the U.S.:

    Listen to it.

This is moving fast, causing irreversible damage, at a time when we need science most.

  15. I was listening to today's Mindscape Podcast and thinking, hey, this guy seems unusually wise to the ways of big data and the compromises of big tech, and why people make those choices and what they mean.

Which isn't that big a surprise given that writing a book about that is why he's on the podcast.

I figure someone with that kind of data-nous probably quit twitter ages ago and was on Fedi instead. And yep. There he is.

    Nice interview @kjhealy

Good exploration of this compromise between using the system and getting used by it. I avoid the trackers enough that I can't really use Google, they just give me traffic-light identification games all the time instead of a search-box.

  16. Thoughtful, amusing, and somewhat reassuring podcast about AI (mostly LLMs) by natural philosopher Sean Carroll. With experiments to explore limitations of LLMs, including a very revealing one with chess on toroidal board.

  17. Listening to Sean Carroll's Mindcape (AMA | August 2023) on my daily dander.

The AMA instructions suggest that we keep questions short, but not everyone is convinced this is a good idea!
