I am not sure that everyone gets that RLHF is a form of supervised learning.
RLHF does not work without human labels (preferences) nor human curated training samples.

Yoshua Bengio is a Turing Award-winning machine learning researcher. He was born to Moroccan Jews in France who then all later moved to Montreal. Bengio founded the MILA institute for machine learning research, helping to turn Montreal and Canada by extension into the major center for artificial intelligence research it is today.
Bengio and his students have invented many of the core algorithms that define the field of deep learning today. Whether it be autoencoders, word embeddings, encoder-decoder models, attention models, generative adverserial models, and many more.

I really like Eyal Dechter's thesis "Using the Language of Thought". I think stochastic context free grammar induction maps well to the requirements for episodic to semantic learning.

I did badly in the latest Kaggle competition and spent few days trying to find out why. I found why: I implemented a different metric than the competition metric, i.e. I spent 2 months optimizing for the wrong metric! Can there be a more stupid way of doing #machineleaning ?

In real life, AI may not live up the all the hype. This commercial AI failed to pass a radiologist exam most of the time (Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists examination). 🤣
