I finally re-found this study I read a few months ago, that deserves a lot more attention. It is, in fact, the main reason we should be moving away from big-tech social media: it shows more right-wing content than left-wing content, no matter the political leaning of the user.

I view #AI like I view my refrigerator. I want the fridge to keep the food cold/frozen & work without issues for 30 years. That’s it. For my computer experience, I don’t want AI or agents of any kind. I just want to see the articles that I select in chronological order. I don’t need an #algorithm selecting what I see. I can see the benefit of AI in some fields, but I don’t need it in my day-to-day life in any way.

Ever since I started using NewPipe and LibreWolf, I've pretty much been watching the same 200ish channels with something new rarely being added.
At some point a few months ago, I opened YouTube on my browser while logged in and saw so many videos recommended to me that I was genuinely interested in.
I have to admit: I miss the algorithm. But convenience unfortunately comes at the cost of privacy.

Oh joy, #Patreon has updated their web interface. Two anti-user changes I've noticed already:
1. The default view is now algorithmic bullshit, in which they feel entitled to put in stuff you haven't subscribed to. This means that, for inescapable venture capitalistic reasons, they will be pushing ragebait into your feed. You need to click an alternate button at the top to only see the stuff you actually signed up to see.
2. They have added two more "marketing email" preferences, and of course silently enabled them. So go check all your settings and turn them off.
