  1. For all people here that use and Lyrion Music Server. There is a community firmware update for Squeezebox Radio, Touch and Controller. I wrote a blogpost why and how to update to the latest version: 8.5.0.

  3. For anyone who's using Squeezebox. It's time to spin up your own Squeezebox server because tomorrow mysqueezebox will shut down.

Setting up your own Squeezebox server is not hard to do. Just take a humble Raspberry Pi. Install Raspberry Pi OS, (or another Linux flavor) and install Logitech Media Server on top of it. A full instruction of mine can be found here.

  4. I have been migrating my home server from #TrueNAS core to TrueNAS scale over the past few weeks. Before the holidays I had my most essential services running (#HomeAssistant and #LogitechMediaServer), and now on a rainy winter Saturday I'm trying to finish the migration. Overall, it has been OK, I wasn't thrilled about the loss of #FreeBSD jails and a migration to #kubernetes containers, but I realize that is the way the work is going, and I am hoping that things are better supported.

  5. My life would be simpler if software were packaged properly (not shipping a whole bunch of conflicting libraries within the package that are also available as OS packages) and written in memory safe languages (Segmentation fault says C via perl). Anyway, my music plays again! Shame about the collateral damage to the display manager... #Upgrades #rPI #Squeezelite #Logitechmediaserver

AntiX Linux running well now on my HP Mini 210-1100 now with the 500GB Samsung 870 EVO SSD!

If you had to choose one to use as a personal music streamer, which would you choose? I'm leaning towards because there seems to be more options on Android that works with . I think I'll try when I get a .

  7. @kelbot @redeagle This is dated now, but I had some bad experiences with mpd: changelog.complete.org/archive and changelog.complete.org/archive .

The really nice thing about #LogitechMediaServer / #SlimServer / #SqueezeBox is that from my control app, I can control every player in the house. Turn them on/off, add them to the sync group or remove them (so they play things standalone), adjust volume, etc. Very nice, and all this can be done from an Android app, in addition to basic music selection.

  8. Greetings from a small #mastodon server running in docker on a #raspberrypi 3 with a whopping 1GB of memory :D

    couldn't find a pre-built armv7 image so built it myself with #docker #buildx

Don't think I will be accepting (m)any registrations though ;)

there's even enough room for a #logitechmediaserver so my music collection also runs from here now.

  9. @kelbot What do you use for your music server? Been doing #LogitechMediaServer (thanks @CarlCravens for that recommendation years ago) and #Ampache here. LMS for streaming synced to devices in the house, Ampache for remotely.
