I beleive they'll do more than try - part the reason #starmer is so shy about policy on #EU & traditional #left causes is the burning urgency to clean up #politics - now terribly soiled by the entire post-2016 era, by #bigDog in particular - we cannot rely on a #decentChaps assumption when the #kipperTories are so obviously a nasty, dirty bunch of #populists appealing to the worst instincts at the more debased end of the electorate

Not really - the fat clown got a majority of over 70 - that was the electorate, misled by some dark forces on the #populistRight end of the spectrum, who did that

The opposition parties did not help by being badly led ( #labour ) and badly advised ( #libDem ) but once that 2019 election was done there was no way to stop the #kipperTories implementins a boneheaded #rightWing version of #brexit

The last #oneTermGovt left power in 1974 (Ted Heath) and the last #labour one in .... 1923 at the end of their first ever (minority) spell in govt (Attlee actually won in 1950 with a majority of just 5 but then lost in 1951)

Sorry - I don't accept England is a liberal country where left of centre is usually the median position.

#Scotland is left of centre. So is #Wales. But England is full of nostalgia for a golden age that never happened, & millions blame others for that not being the case now

I would wish for the same end point (#PR, mostly #leftOfCentre coalitions) but can neither see the route nor the destination as acheivable.

Meantime lets get rid of the malign #kipperTories ASAP

I am fairly confident more than enough former #labour voters will return to the fold to end the #cameronToryEra - thank your gods.....

There will never be enough brits bigotted enough to vote extremist parties into power - all #reform does is ensure the #kipperTories lose power

I agree with the sentiment - but I think some underestimate how much the #kipperTories have smashed the #ukEu relationship - it will be many years before the UK has a realistic chance to #rejoinEu

All I want is the #kipperTories gone and for someone to start undoing the damage they have inflicted. #Starmer is the only game in town for that - I think he is playing a long game because the harm #brexit inflicted simply cannot be addressed in one parliament - it will take several.

But I am not sure #rejoin is the answer anyway - it will be a long hard road to get there - I doubt it will happen within this decade

I disagree - his project is to win power and stop the #kipperTories inflincting yet more damage on ordinary people.

There are parties to the left of #labour. They just never get elected. That is not because they are unlucky, it is because the #UK electorate do not like what they offer.

I am not sure what people posting similar messages expect... the #libDems were pretty much dismissed in 2019 for promising to reverse Brexit, and whilst like you I regard #brexit as an historic error and an act of self-harm, I do not think #labour benefit electorally if they can be painted as the #reverseBrexit party by the #kipperTories
