There is a petition to #UK parliament to "Introduce an immediate ban on the sale and promotion of smart glasses".
Rename it "anti-blind people petition". Or "anti-accessibility petition". You're "welcome".
Instead of urging governments to make manufacturers to increase glasses security, modern leftist answer is only one: ban. Ban everything, no matter what.
there are success stories, like when EU de facto made Apple to ship their phones with a standardized USB-C. Not banned iPhones all through the EU, but nudged and urged the manufacturer to change their form-factor.
It's the same: smart glasses are of a huge help to some vulnerable categories, namely blind people.

During a conference on Thursday, #JeanLucMélenchon launched a highly polemical attack against the Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions (#CRIF) and its president #YonathanArfi.
“The CRIF, well, it’s basically some #farright machine where every year all the ministers line up to go eat there. They pay 800 euros to go eat there, but taxes reimburse 60 percent of it, so it works out fine. So they all go there, and they follow orders,” he said.
Here, #Mélenchon was referring to the annual CRIF dinner, a political event in France where senior #politicians traditionally attend and speak. He implied that Jewish organizations secretly control politicians or exercise #political influence behind the scenes."

As much as I think the US is deeply flawed, I think this is a great way to market #antifascism to Americans. We need to recognize that the #farleft is the truest implementation of the Enlightenment inalienable rights ideals of the American revolution and emphasize the ways that America has always failed to live up to them.
