Boeing 777-9 flight testing today... They took off from Seattle Boeing Field #KBFI in 777-9 prototype N779XW as Boeing 001. The flight plan says they'll return to BFI. But with a plane designed to fly almost to the opposite side of the world, Washington State often isn't big enough for testing. This Pilatus PC-12 turboprop N21AU landing at Portland #KPDX would probably go mostly unnoticed... except for its radio callsign Boeing 21AU. This is a crew transport coming to pick up the test pilots from Boeing 508. It will take them back to Boeing Field #KBFI in Seattle where the flight test base is located. Spotted at PDX today: Boeing 737 MAX10 prototype #2 N27752 flying as Boeing 102 did a touch&go on Runway 28R at Portland International Airport #KPDX. Boeing test pilots flew it out of Boeing Field #KBFI. They also did touch&gos at Seattle-Tacoma #KSEA and Moses Lake #KMWH before coming to PDX. I expected we'd see more 777-9s in Portland eventually after the Boeing test pilots did a touch&go on #KPDX Runway 10R two weeks ago. Today N779XY was back again for a touch&go on Runway 10L. Photos taken from home: takeoff from PDX and climbout with sunlight enhancing the wing features including the folding wingtips. With wingtips extended, it's wider than a 747-8. Between the arrival and departure of the Alaska 787 at Sea-Tac Airport, I got a sandwich and took pictures from the park overlooking Seattle Boeing Field #KBFI. Typical for a weekend, it wasn't a busy place. But it has fantastic views of Mount Rainier nearly lined up with the runways. And since it's Boeing's flight test base, there were three Boeing 777-9 prototypes parked there taking the weekend off. I hope someone got a better picture than the BFI webcam. By the time we all knew it was coming, there wasn't time for me to get to Seattle in rainstorm-commute traffic. But actually in Seattle the front passed and rain ended before the landing. ADS-B shows it taxied to a Boeing hangar. No surprise. Alaska doesn't have a 787-sized hangar at SeaTac yet. But Boeing has hangars big enough at BFI, considering that was the flight test base for the 787. #Alaska787 #N784HA #KBFI #aviation #avgeek

I spotted an Oman Air Boeing 737 MAX8 in OneWorld special livery as it departed Portland Int'l Airport #KPDX. This brand new plane is still owned by Boeing, flying to Boeing Field #KBFI in Seattle for customer delivery. Something you don't see every day in Portland #KPDX... a Boeing 737 MAX8 of Norwegian Air Sweden. Except I already posted pics of this plane here. It arrived August 18 on its B1 flight as a green #UnpaintedAirplane #PicklePlane. Now out of the Boeing Portland Paint Hangar on its second flight, it could be customer pilots testing on its C1 flight. Here's the same Boeing 777-200LR/F freighter which arrived as an #UnpaintedAirplane #PicklePlane on July 10, now painted in Emirates Sky Cargo livery. Though it's still owned by Boeing at this point. I made an edit a couple posts back in this thread, about hints a plane coming to Portland might be a brand-new green plane. Really, the first hint is "Boeing-owned". You can start checking the other factors after that gets your attention.
