👻 Ever heard of the ghostly Roman soldier said to patrol Chapel-le-Dale on misty Ingleborough mornings?
Have you spotted him?
Historically a Roman road ran along the flanks of Ingleborough. You can still trace stretches of the Roman road from Cam Fell, down through Chapel-le-Dale toward Lancaster. It was part of the route connecting the Roman fort at Virolanum (Bainbridge) east of Ingleborough to Galacum (Over Burrow) near Lancaster.
