Whilst I'm laid up with the lurgy I thought I'd put together selection of work from 2024.Losing Stanley was devasting but I know he had the best life. Making Nelson the Chameleon was great fun and being asked to carve an old friend in stone was a real privilege. Quite a bit of letter cutting this year including this house number for a front door!Two big jobs in the pipeline for 2025 & I hope to be able to mix it up with #Metalwork #StoneCarving #WoodCarving #Turning #LetterCutting & #Portraiture

Great fun being part of the whole worldwide #Pint24 #CreativeRx project! Last night's opening performance & exhibition The Carousel in #Nottingham was a blast & I was especially impressed with the poetry of Ben Macpherson, Lucy Grace & Manjit Sahota.Evening ending with a brilliant performance by Sandy Wardrop about folk who use dating apps -a whole new world! If you can get down to the wonderful Carousel arts venue in #Hockley before Monday eve you'll be able to catch my "Intercostal Satellite"

I've been #turning some of my trademark Japanese influenced bowls this week for special birthday pressies. The colour in this particular chunk of #padauk is amazing. The richest I've ever seen & more than worthy for the lovely 90yr old lady who's going to receive it! There's a 1934 halfpenny set into the base ☺️

#MeetTheArtist Day5. Wax & Clay - soft modelling. Wax was the first medium I used professionally, modelling medical prosthetics. I now more often use a soft filled wax, that softens in the hand but is quite firm at room temp. This little #wren, part of a 6” sq. low relief was modelled in 2020. Due to its impermanence any wax model has to be then moulded (in this case in silicon rubber) & then cast into the final permanent medium (in this case a resin bronze).
