The cmte’s creation was prompted by a 2023 report by the city that recommended more than a half-dozen types of #reparations. Descendants of victims & #Tulsa residents said #educational opportunities — #scholarships & #tuition assistance — & direct payments were the most crucial, acc/to the report.

Politicians here referring to "strengthening neighborhoods" harken back this old system which was built on the zoning codes put in place when when race laws became illegal in the US. Most of #BloomingtonIN lives in multi-family housing and most of that is excluded from neighborhood boundaries. The headline says this latest zoning reform in #MadisonWI increases occupancy limits in single-family areas.

What it really does is redefine "family" so that unrelated people and their chosen families can live together without breaking the law.

Hypothetically, if my landlord described to me in detail how they exploited legal loopholes to discriminate against a disabled tennant and void their lease, and I got it all on tape, who would I report that to? Someone at city hall? The state attorney general? This is hypothetically in #Massachusetts, btw.
