“… This publication [link above] represents the culmination of a massive two-year effort that stands as one of my most significant and rewarding projects at the U.S. Army #EngineerResearchandDevelopmentCenter (ERDC).
[T]he lead author of this technical report, developed and executed all of the foundational streamflow modeling. It was a staggering undertaking, involving over 100,000 RAPID simulations across a 32-member climate model ensemble to generate data for 3.1 million river reaches, which directly powered the flood mapping. As the lead flood modeler for this initiative [the H/T] then executed over 1,000 AutoRoute model runs, building from the streamflow data, to build a comprehensive, national-scale dataset of fluvial flood exposures. The sheer scale and resolution of this work is unprecedented, providing critical flood-map coverage across the entire United States to assess the exposure of vital military installations and enhance Department of Defense mission resilience…”
