Good Morning Folks! Yesterday was the league reveal for #PathOfExile2 and I talk a bit about that. We also did our Calamity Ops and Stronghold runs in #DestinyRising and talk a bit about speccing out Jaren. Lastly I have been spending most of my time in #GuildWars reforged and am overwhelmed by now much better the game looks.

In an old folder, rediscovered this parody skill banner created in the format of Guild Wars 1 skills. It is animated and flips between skills, you just have to give it time.
The file is dated 2006. if that gives an idea. Seems to piece together a fun #MMORPG story, though.

@alilly So, I figured I'd see if it really is possible to download the Debian DVD set without garbaging up my bandwidth for "everything else". I think I am a pretty good example, since my Internet connection is 6Mbit down and 800kbit up residential DSL with a 200GB per month limit (traffic between 2am and 8am is not counted). I get about 5Mbit down on a good day.
I found out that jigdo is a tool that can apparently be used to do this exact task.

I decided on Debian 12.2 and downloaded the .jigdo and .template files (but not the update ones) from here

$ sudo apt-get install jigdo-file
and then I started jigdo-lite in the directory where I had downloaded the above files. A few prompts later (such as the .jigdo file to use) and it was starting to download. Though, like you pointed out... it does suck up a fair bit of bandwidth. So I stopped the transfer and edited my ~/.jigdo-lite file. There is a line that starts with "wgetOpts=" that I edited to include:
--limit-rate=16k
Then when I went back and restarted jigdo-lite it was now downloading at just a trickle. In fact, it has been 24 hours now and it is still working on DVD1. I haven't seen the finished product yet, but my understanding is that it SHOULD produce an ISO image when it completes the downloads of all the packages.
In the meantime, I have been able to use my VoIP phone line, play Guild Wars #gw1 and even stream a 720p video. So the good news is that with a little elbow grease, a lot of disk space, and a ton of patience... it can be done. It just might not be for everyone. :-)
