I'm not sure there's much of an audience for #FPL over here on Mastodon, but we've got a mini-league of sorts.

This is my #FPL team a few weeks out.
Biggest issue I have at the start of the season is that I just don't know enough about Football™ to actually build a team. Give me 5-6 weeks and I'm very good at looking at the data and building off that, but those first few weeks I struggle because 1) I don't watch the games and 2) football isn't my sport.
So yeah. This is my definitely-gonna-change-team right now.

My Fantasy Premier League season. This year was tough. I opened with a stinker and stagnated for the whole of the first half of the season, hovering about 4.5 million. Going against the herd with some failed key captain choices stopped me from gaining ground. I made some steady progress in the second half, but never knocked it out of the park in any given game week. Ended up ranked around 1.5 million. Disappointing overall, but out of 9 million plus, can’t really grumble.

Had a shit day.
Too fucking hot. Kids have been a nightmare. I lost my #FPL mini-league to my brother by 6 points....
But at least I've finally got a full combo/clear on #CloneHero song. Yes it was only on medium, but I'm still rather proud of myself. Bonus points because it's my favourite song of all time.

My #FPL season has been utterly ruined because Crystal fucking Palace can't score a goal past fucking Bournemouth.
Bring on the Conference League second leg. I've suddenly adopted Shakhtar as my favourite team left in that competition.

It was the weirdest #FPL season ever—no Haaland, no Salah, no Saka, and not a single consistent striker scoring goals—not Šeško, not Woltemade, not Igor Thiago. Good players from the previous teams disappeared to the big clubs they moved to: Wirtz, Semenyo, Mbeumo, Gyökeres.

I've just discovered that in the official Fantasy Premier League (a fantasy football competition based on the English football Premier League) there is seemingly an anti-competition to see who can finish last.
This is an intriguing challenge. You can lose points for making excessive transfers but also players can can lose points for conceding goals, being awarded red cards etc.
Out of the over 12 million managers who play this, there are currently just nine managers who are all tied on -608 points (that's negative points) 😀
