#GreySeals and #CommonSeals relax on the beaches of #Heligoland.
Visitors are asked to keep 30m distance - which is really not that much.

  10. back in 2016, we thought we had about 50 - 80 grey seals haul out on the beach at South Walney. Dave from the RSPB came round to do a drone demo and I asked him to take a photo of the seals from above. I went back to the office and counted about 160 seals - twice what I thought we had. 9 years on and there's now 560 seals!

  14. If I had known that there would be #GreySeals on the "Richel", I would have chosen the other side of the fairway. I would have been much closer. But the pictures from a distance are also quite nice.

  15. The Expert Reporter appointed by the Scottish Government recommended refusal to allow Orkney Islands Council to put up a windfarm on Faray. Scot Gov granted permission anyway. "The windfarm and all the infrastructure construction required will ‘have a significant effect on the grey seal qualifying population of the SAC’." #windfarm #Orkney #ScottishGovernment #environment #greyseals #Faray
