Happy 60th Birthday, Star Trek!
As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the original Star Trek television series' debut with The Man Trap on September 8, 1966 on NBC, I look back to when I met Jonathan Frakes.https://medi-nerd.com/2026/09/08/happy-60th-birthday-star-trek/

We’ve made it to double digits; this weekend is Convention #10 in a row for me!
THIS WEEKEND (Aug 14th-16th) I’ll be in Orlando, Florida for #GalaxyCon Animate! Orlando - and what’s more, I’m joined by TADC castmates Amanda Hufford and Michael Kovach!
Let’s celebrate a new golden era of animation!

FSCW has even used the AEW set for an event (see their GalaxyCon Columbus 2024 Sunday Night Full Show).

I would post pictures from #galaxycon but this reddit post nailed it.
Here's @RandomCosplayer getting a little portraiture at #galaxycon.
My wife and I attended GalaxyCon / Nightmare Weekend in Richmond, VA yesterday and I returned home with some SciFi-geek life goals fulfilled. :-)
I met The Last Starfighter stars Lance Guest (Alex) and Catherine Mary Stewart (Maggie) with photos and autographs. Good times!
(Cathy is also in Night of the Comet, another dear favorite of mine from the eighties!)

Went to #Ohayocon to meet a friend of mine whe flew in for the weekend - it's much smaller than #GalaxyCon and the Friday crowd was thin, but while I was there I ran into Richard Epcar who played two of my all-time favorite anime characters - #DaisukeJigen from #LupinThe3rd and #Batou from #GhostInTheShell. Also there was Ellyn Stern, who voiced numerous characters throughout the Lupin series and films - then I learned these two were married, so naturally I got matching autographs #anime
I just saw that Cindy Morgan has passed away. She was only 69, but in some great movies & TV shows: Tron, Caddyshack, CHiPs, The Fall Guy, The Love Boat. I got the chance to meet her in 2022 in Richmond, VA at GalaxyCon. She will always be remembered by me for playing Lora/Yori. Just a lovely person.
This was the first evah *reader* copy of Daredevil: Black Armor signed at a con, at #galaxycon in Columbus. (And as promised on social: first one was free!) That's both the regular cover and the con exclusive. I hope he enjoyed the read as well!
Putting myself inside the "big head generator" at the Columbus Convention Center, after hours at #galaxycon. Interface for the capture was a little wonky, hence my thousand yard stare. Ah, interactive art!
I've mentioned before that there are some characters people are born to #cosplay - such is the case of this pitch-perfect #Eda from #TheOwlHouse #Galaxycon #Disney
No trip to Columbus (this for @galaxayconcmh #galaxycon) is complete without paying respect to The Arnold. Get pumped, stay hungry, oil up. (Honestly, that's what the statue needed, a constant thin sheen of oil running over it, like a buff fountain!)
Earlier this month, I had the chance to travel to Columbus and enjoy my first GalaxyCon convention. This convention had a great lineup of sci-fi and fantasy actors, voice actors, artists, and more. There was one person in particular I wanted to meet as she is one of the best voice actors in the business.

Tara Strong has voiced more cartoon characters than I thought possible in a single career, including Raven on Teen Titans/Teen Titans Go!, Timmy Turner on The Fairly OddParents, Bubbles on The Powerpuff Girls, Twilight Sparkle on My Little Pony, and, most recently, Miss Minutes on Loki. Tara is incredibly friendly, plus I am very jealous of how much better her handwriting is than mine.
I was next able to meet Jonathan Frakes. He is most famous for his role as Commander William Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation, but I wanted to get his autograph on a photo showing Jonathan doing his great work behind the camera as a director. The fact that it was from Star Trek: Discovery and featured Sonequa Martin-Green and Mary Wiseman was a bonus!
Time to get a little serious, something you should always be when you are around Gus Fring. Giancarlo Esposito, while he was at this convention for The Mandalorian, has also performed incredibly on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. As he wrote on the photo, Bad IS Best!
There was somebody else I saw, but I didn’t think I should get close to him…
I’m the Juggernaut, BITCH!!!And some of the stuff I brought home from the convention.
Yes, I know the quote is from Bubbles, but I had already bought the Raven POP when I got in line to get it autographed. It’s still all Tara Strong, at least.https://medi-nerd.com/2023/12/12/2023-columbus-galaxycon/

Finally met someone who GETS me! #cosplay #GalaxyCon #GreenGoblin #Spiderman #Robotnik #Eggman #Sonic #SonicTheHedgehog
Yes, #GalaxyCon was an amazing three days and yes, I too was amazing for three days #cosplay #robotnik #eggman #sonic #sonicthehedgehog
Well, I was going to wear the #Stormtrooper gear this weekend but my handler had to cancel - my TIE pilot costume is still unfinished so guess who's going to #GalaxyCon this weekend?
OMG Jeff went to #GalaxyCon yesterday and got me THIS omg!! Now I have autographs from Kirk AND Uhura!
Barring any cataclysmic, extinction-level events (which, if we're being entirely honest, are a distinct possibility these days), #DrRobotnik will be at #GalaxyCon Columbus this Dec 1-3, 2023!
This means ME.
Decided to get a reservation at a 4-star hotel right next to the convention center rather than drive home every night even though I only live 10 miles away because I DESERVE TO BE WAITED ON HAND AND FOOT FOR A CHANGE
(I'll be a stormtrooper for part of the con also) #Eggman #Sega #Sonic
Absolutely gutted that Charlie Cox had to cancel GalaxyCon Raleigh (not that I blame him as often times these things are for a filming commitment). I had a duo photo op purchased with him and Vincent D'Onofrio. I'll go ahead and get Mr. Fisk and hope to catch back up with Mr. Murdock later. Luckily, there are others I hope to see as well:
Dave Foley
Ming-Na Wen
Don Bluth
... maybe more…
Come and visit our sponsor #mego #megotoys this weekend at #GalaxyCon #galaxyconrichmond, get your photo taken as an action figure, and pick up one of our Trek Long Island flyers to see what we are all about and where to buy tickets www.treklongisland.com ❤️🖖🏽
