On this day, May 23rd, 1994, the final episode of Star Trek the Next Generation aired, the last scene, Pat Stewart's now iconic Captain Picard, who had alway kept a sort of reserve as the commanding officer, joining his friends in their weekly card game, the reserve drops, a warm smile and commenting "I should have done this years ago". A warm moment between the characters we so loved.

Sometimes I wish that Star Trek: The Next Generation had an original theme tune. I think that theme does mean TNG more than anything else for me now, but... well, it's the theme from The Motion Picture, innit? Every other series has gotten an original theme, but TNG got an adaption of an old theme. The animated series even got a new one!
