The northernmost storm cell in #RVA has weakened and moved off towards Ashland; the southernmost cell is still going strong from Rockwood to Pocahontas State Park to Chesterfield Courthouse

Two cells are producing hail and damaging winds from western Chesterfield to western Henrico (near Short Pump), moving east towards the northside of #RVA and towards Chester, respectively.

Just drove back into Chesterfield from downtown #RVA and the torrential rain was UNREAL. Careful if you have to venture into Chesterfield tonight, visibility is very poor.

Just got home from a lovely time walking around the Watermelon Festival in Carytown! Oh the number of booths I could've easily spent money at, lol! But I behaved myself. I did pick up this neat shirt though! #RVA

A bit hotter today around #RVA and south-central #Virginia, in the mid 90s, a smidge cooler further north and west; storm chances look slim, mostly south of Charlottesville and southwest of Richmond. #VAwx

I did a little bike ride today. Probably bit off more than I should have but it was a good time. Hashtag exhausted.

Might see some early storms sneak into far northwest #Virginia if they survive the trek over the mountains (Winchester, Martinsburg, Hagerstown); otherwise, models are split on whether we see another round of storms this afternoon from D.C. to #RVA. Flash flood warning for Chesterfield County south of Hull Street/Rt. 360 for a very slow moving thunderstorm from Hopewell to Iron Bridge and the Chesterfield Airport; this storm is moving slowly northward towards the southside of #RVA with heavy rain; careful if you have to pass that way this morning, could be some water ponding on roads in that area.

Head's up #RVA, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan will be holding a #ClimateChange town hall meeting tomorrow evening, 6pm at the Science Museum of #Virginia on Broad Street! Myself and @climatechangemakersrva will be there!

According to the most recent drought monitor map, #RVA and Petersburg and Tappahannock have been downgraded from moderate drought to abnormally dry while the western half of #Virginia still remains in moderate to severe drought. But, more rains are on the way late Sunday through Tuesday and should help.
