Sometimes it’s the little, mundane victories. We’re not done repainting this room by a long shot, but we did finish painting the accent color portions, and… I don’t know, it feels good. 😊

You know what? I have a pretty good life all things considered. Like, I'm striving for better as are we all, but I don't have much to complain about. #FeelsGood

BURNING COMPACT DISKS today.

Hurrah! I just fixed something that's annoyed me for over a decade! 🙄

It feels good.

All things come to those who wait—and wait—and wait.

My front deck was poorly built (by a so called builder), & sagged over the years. The support beam mounting meant sagging was inevitable.

A stronger beam. A steel beam, or maybe, some bolts between the too widely spaced bolts holding the beam. A builder would know this. Hell, I know this.

It's sort of thin gruel these days but as part of Wikipedia work making edits about Vermonters I've gotten to edit two pages THIS MONTH announcing the resignations of Republican State Senators. #FeelsGood

#selfhosting #backup #feelsgood

I found 2 undocumented #PowerShell 5.1 bugs (1 I've known about for years). I decided to make a GitHub repo for these and future #pwsh bugs I find, with scripts showing how to easily reproduce them. I also created PRs to have the docs updated to mention them. #FeelsGood

We also had an impromptu stealth adventure where the party split up into three.

None of us are much good at stealth.

None of us got caught and we all found what we were looking for. Nice anomalous role playing. The DM was a bit sad.

Our very first freeze of the season is upon us this morning and let me tell you, it feels AMAZING outside!

I even have the computer room window cracked a bit, to get some of that fresh, cool air into the room!

Spent the evening upgrading the small program I use to sync Habitica with my Google calendar every week. Fixed a bug where certain items were ignored and filtered out requests that were unnecessary. Satisfying work. And in python, which I don't use often. Always feels good to implement a few things you've always meant to do.

You know why I like @forgejo so much? I just did a "fly-by" patch on the documentation because I was annoyed with how complicated that one page was written. So I forked the repo, cleaned up that page and submitted a Pull Request. And guess what? No discussions, no back and forth, it just got merged! Now THAT is how you attract new contributors to your Open Source project. Thank you! My first contribution!

#FeelsGood My Papa was an executive pilot for 30 years. 25 yrs ago, this painting was commissioned of his most recent plane as a retirement gift. As the eldest grandchild, I was lucky enough to fly with him in this plane many times before he retired. Those are some of the best memories I have of my childhood. 1/3

So yesterday I was handed off a bit of work that two other's had failed at getting done. There was zero expectation of it ever working.
This morning I figured it out and the scheduled meeting to talk about alternatives was just cancelled 5 min in when the team found out of the success.
