It’s #FridayChaiDay and the perfect excuse to indulge in an extra chai when you #vax up. Latest #COVID vaccine today!

I think they know me AND my order, it was a new person at the drive thru, but the drink maker wrote my name on the cup. I guess I've been there once or twice before.....

It's Friday Chai Day, and for fun I wrote a blog post which auto-posted this morning and I forgot to pass that on. Here it is, something totally not needed but still a nice nerd distraction in these trying times - bash themes.

Good lord I am glad my day is drawing to a close. Did I get everything done I wanted to do? No. But considering I started the week feeling sick, I am glad I got at least caught up with a few things checked off the list. Sorry world, you're not fully secure yet.
I did get the all-important liquid christening of the day completed. Love my #FridayChaiDay

As I sit here drinking my morning #EarlGrey (and looking forward to #chai later as it is #FridayChaiDay ) I remember back as a young kid in Sunday School at church asking the class teacher what was good about #GoodFriday, mainly because the whole crucifixion process seemed pretty much the opposite of "good". Naturally I got in trouble for being disruptive (again) as I was insistent on an answer and didn't get a snack.

Being #FridayChaiDay I’m ready to go and finish off the work day. #infosec #HackerLife

Finally. #Chai acquired. #FridayChaiDay task completed. The #dog attended as well and the staff gave her a bit of whip. No not Starbucks, a locally owned coffee shop. Now back to #infosec work.

After years of field work, this #FridayChaiDay I present wonderful and carefully thought-out research results.

Relief. Risky volume resizing of a (home) prod server complete without incident. Had there been an incident, I would not be able to post this as it was my pihole server in recursive mode for the rest of the network.

Someone loves trains. Almost as much as she loves pup cups (thx Inclusion Coffee).

It’s #fridaychaiday so at lunchtime I headed to a fave downtown coffee shop and got a chai and a nice snack - a matcha-flavored cookie. Yum! Brought it home to help get through the afternoon.

It's Friday! I'll be having a chai later, probably from one of the downtown dog-friendly coffee shops. I thought I'd share some tea secrets as well...
-
While out getting an after-lunch chai (and a dog treat) downtown, the shop had what they referred to as an “Earl Grey cookie”. They apparently are popular as the large display jar was full in the morning and I got the last cookie. Pretty good! BTW it was about the bergamot more than the black tea leaves.
Jealous, @wendynather?

Lunchtime downtown visit to get chai and a bit of whip cream for the dog. She certainly knows the way, out to the full extension of the leash. #FridayChaiDay

It's Friday, and to try and help lighten the mood for my tech-weary hacker friends, I've got a list of entertaining and educational YouTube channels that are not hacker channels, but will likely appeal to a few of you. So kick back with your chai and enjoy! https://www.markloveless.net/blog/2023/2/10/fun-friday-youtube-channels

After leaving breadcrumbs on my Twitter account pointing here, and after well over a month since my last tweet (again which pointed here), I've finally deactivated the account. #FeelsGood #FridayGoals #FridayChaiDay

CW: Bit of leg flesh removal.
So yes, on #Friday the 13th local zealots removed some flesh from my leg.

The story of bad guys taking out power substations to perform a robbery reminded me of a similar story. From *1982*. So this is hardly a new trend.

Ok I am going to say it - USA school zones are stupid.
I am willing to concede that elementary school students can have them, but bear minimum high schools should not have them.
If we allow kids to start driving at 16, which requires awareness of traffic, the spatial awareness of cars moving in a 3-D world and judging speeds and distances accordingly, they do not need crossing guards.
Ok fine. I had to go through two school zones on my Starbucks run just now, and I was CONVINCED that the MASSIVE 30 second delay caused the long drive thru line to form. I wanted my chai.

It's Friday, so yes I am upgrading my network's recursive DNS server to Ubuntu 22.10 via SSH.
