  1. A sunset view of Dunblane Cathedral. The cathedral was built from around 1150 and the tower was originally free-standing. After being open to the elements for the better part of three centuries the nave was re-roofed in 1889-93. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/dun

  2. Not withstanding the horrible and disrespect to the victims shown by his comments, does he really want to import US style gun laws (and by extension the resultant gun violence) to our shores?

  3. "That tragedy changed Scotland forever. To speak so casually about an event that still causes such profound pain is both callous and indefensible."

  4. ‘#RupertLowe has sparked outrage after incorrectly claiming there was just “one murder” during the #Dunblane massacre.

The #Restore Britain leader told Joe Rogan, the world’s most popular podcaster, that handguns in the UK were banned “because there was a murder up in Dunblane”.

Rogan asks the Great Yarmouth MP: “One murder?,” before Lowe replies: “One murder.”

  5. “The Dunblane massacre led Britain to ban handguns.” Simple test for being allowed to own a gun. If you don’t want one fine. If you do want one you are clearly dangerous and should be banned from owning one. Simple! #Dunblane #Guns

  6. In the memories of the upcoming 30 years since the tragedy at #Dunblane one wee minor tech memory comes back. 1996 It was early days for most organisations to have websites but there was quickly a viral movement that webmasters turned the backgrounds of their website pages to black, in memoriam. Never seen anything like it since. So small in the scheme of things but everyone just feeling so powerless to help those affected but wanting them to know they were in our thoughts. Still are. 💔

  7. Ed Dav references the #Dunblane tragedy at #pmqs and quotes #Farage saying that the handgun ban is "ludicrous"

Starmer says, "we must never forget Dunblane"

  9. #ScotRail is reminding customers of timetable improvements from Sunday, 14 December, aimed at enhancing services in #Glasgow and across #Scotland. New four-carriage electric class 380 #trains will replace most diesel trains between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride, marking a key step in rail decarbonisation. Peak-time services on the Glasgow Central–Newton, Neilston, and Cathcart Circle routes will gain additional carriages, while evening services between #Edinburgh Waverley and #Dunblane will run twice hourly. Adjusted services will also improve travel to North #Berwick, #Dunbar, #Tweedbank, and #Fife. ScotRail urges passengers to check journey times as some may have changed.

  10. From Sunday 14 December 2025, #ScotRail will introduce electric trains on the #Glasgow Central–East Kilbride line, replacing most diesel services with modern four-car Class 380 trains. Funded by the #Scottish Government and delivered by Network Rail, the electrification project aims to provide smoother, quieter, and more sustainable journeys. Around 75% of services will be electric, and additional evening trains will create a roughly half-hourly service Monday to Saturday. Other timetable changes include more carriages on peak services in the Glasgow area, extra evening trains between #Edinburgh Waverley and #Dunblane, and revised services on cross-border and #Fife routes.

  12. After seeing the exhibitions in #Stirling at the Tolbooth, the Barracks and the MacRobert I'd say this year's #StirlingPhotographyFestival has been a triumph of what volunteer effort can achieve.

Still further exhibitions to see, at the Library in #Doune and then group shows opening in #Dunblane at the Library and WeighAhead, and a full event programme.

Vimes tried to. It wasn’t easy. He was vaguely aware that he drank to forget.”
