This morning I was almost late leaving for work because I was nearing the end of Monstrous Regiment and couldn't bear the idea of having to read the last ten minutes tonight.

It's tremendous, btw, read it.

ANYWAY, having now finished it I've consulted the Annotated Pratchett Files, and my god, Pratchett had an incredible depth of knowledge.

I finished Wintersmith. It’s nice watching Tiffany grow up. She was in two different love triangles here. I like the tweaks to the Witch lore. I miss the cameos and footnotes from the older books.

All my computers in my personal network for nigh on 30 years have been named after characters from Terry Pratchett's Discworld series of novels. I'm typing this on "Vetinari". It seemed a good choice because I'm unlikely to run out of names, even considering I name network appliances and VMs.

At previous companies I managed machines and networks for, one had machines named after female singers (though I didn't start that tradition), and another used the names of solar system bodies - planets and moons, mostly.
