This has nothing to do with the "fediverse"
This has entirely to do with @Gargron and @Mastodon complete and utter inability to detect, control, and eliminate "verification" spam account activity on their own flagship instance
I"ve reported over 100 accounts at least in the last two days -- although I didn't think I'd really need to keep accurate count
The most recent reports were for activity only two hours old
