I love LLMs and use them almost every day. Every new version fills me with happiness and curiosity. But honestly, I can’t stand the endless photo and video generation. After #Sora2, I feel like the internet will be flooded with digital junk. Anyone else getting these ridiculous repo scraping spikes? A clean checkout of the https://thi.ng/umbrella monorepo is ~370MB. Over the past 14 days there were 222k clones (only 117 unique) of this repo which have caused downloads of a whopping ~78TB. WTF! 🤯

Here’s a good primer on how to alienate longtime customers, from #Arlo. #UXdesign #serviceDesign #digitalWaste 😡😩😥
- Sell a product promising 7 day free cloud storage
- Surprise folks with just 2 months notice when you’re deprecating that feature and others completely.
- Communicate that in an obtuse legal email and tell folks that they can buy a subscription to get some of the functionality back but not all.
- Don’t provide any transition discounts or other services. -
