  1. Does existence itself demand a cause? The cosmological argument suggests yes—that a necessary being best explains why there is something rather than nothing. What part of this reasoning do you find most compelling or provocative?

  2. Is the cosmological argument a solid path to a first cause, or a philosophical detour? Weigh contingency, causation, and the universe's origin. Which part convinces you most, and why? #CosmologicalArgument

  3. The cosmological argument asks why anything exists instead of nothing.

If every effect has a cause, there must be a first cause.

  4. The cosmological argument asks why there is something rather than nothing.

It argues for a first cause, a necessary being that explains existence.

  5. The cosmological argument asks why there is anything at all.

If every effect has a cause, there must be a first cause outside the cosmos.

  6. The cosmological argument asks why there is anything at all, pointing to a necessary cause beyond the universe.

It invites reflection on contingency, causation, and the origin of existence.

  7. The cosmological argument asks why there is something rather than nothing.

If everything has a cause, many argue there must be an uncaused cause, often identified as God.

  8. Scripture study ties prophecy, end times, heaven, hell, and the millennial kingdom to faith.

Apologetics, Biblical ethics, Biblical evolution, and logic shape belief in God and Jesus.

  9. If #God Exists, Where is He? | #VictorStenger

From the #cosmologicalargument to fine-tuning, #theists offer many reasons to believe in God. But critics like Stenger say these arguments collapse under scrutiny. This video breaks down both sides and asks: are these classic proofs of God still relevant in a post-#scientificage?

  10. The argument from first cause (or the cosmological argument) states that the universe must have a cause, and that this cause is (the arguer's) #God.

The argument from first cause proceeds as follows:
    1) Everything that comes into being must have a cause.
    2) An infinite regress of causes is impossible.
    3) We must therefore arrive at a first cause.
    4) This first cause is God.

  11. William Lane Craig is an American #Christian apologist, philosopher, and theologian. Craig claims that religious faith must be spread through appeals to #reason & #logic or else #atheism will triumph. However, this is more about crafting a more effective "sales pitch", than any real commitment to reason since Craig is essentially willing to abandon reason if it provides the "wrong" answers (i.e. those incompatible with Craig's religious dogma).

Craig has authored numerous books on subjects including cosmology, philosophy of science, theology, the Christian church, Christian apologetics, #metaphysics and #epistemology, and history. However, all of Craig's work has a tendency to be fodder for his apologetics; for instance, his work on philosophy of time seems to consist of little more than trying to promote A-theory of time because that's required to get his cosmological argument to work.
