The argument from first cause (or the cosmological argument) states that the universe must have a cause, and that this cause is (the arguer's) #God.

The argument from first cause proceeds as follows:
1) Everything that comes into being must have a cause.
2) An infinite regress of causes is impossible.
3) We must therefore arrive at a first cause.
4) This first cause is God.
