The official new owner, Bridehead Estate Ltd, is registered to the same address, with the same officers, as a company called Belport. The Telegraph reports that the estate โwas bought by #Belport, a private equity firm, on behalf of a wealthy client last autumnโ, but no one knows who the client is.
This eviction impacts the lives of 32 families living there.

@cl3mcg Thanks! I've almost certainly got a ยฃ20k grant (yes, MUCH less than the minimum ยฃ2.7m Go-op are trying to raise) to pilot the new community bus service. I just need to convince #Bridport Town Council to accept the money on our behalf (our small community org didn't pass the financial due diligence tests because the grant is more than our turnover) ๐ค๐

I've added this wonderful photo to the article at https://bl.ag/biles, documenting the life and work of Bridport's George Biles. It shows him on the first day of his apprenticeship at Frederick Barrett & Sons in 1914.

Save the date: For all of August, there will be an exhibition in Bridport, Dorset, about the life and work of George Biles, a prolific signwriter, decorator, and scenic painter whose career spanned nearly 70 years.
A collection of his Palmers Brewery pub signs have survived, and will be displayed alongside drawings, and more.
