The farmer was cutting hay, and we counted *seven* Red Kites following the tractors.
At one point, all whirling over the same field together!
I guess it's the raptor equivalent of a salmon run. A hay cut drives out mice and rodents. So they learnt to follow the tractors 🦅🚜

This may have been the first time I've managed to get some decent photos of a bird as small and flighty as this fairy wren.
I think this is a male in his "eclipse plumage", i.e. the less colourful feathers they wear outside of the breeding season.

Northern Mockingbird going completely apeshit in a tree right by my house. Not the best picture but I had to max out my phone zoom for it. This bird is LOUD.
