I didn't feel like running this morning. I'm nearing the end of my training cycle, so that shouldn't surprise me.
I stayed in bed a bit longer, but as my bio rhythm made me fully wake and because I didn't want to wake my wife, I got up. I brewed myself a cup of coffee, got my book and settled in our rocking chair in the garden.

#Birdsong in my street tonight was particularly pronounced in my otherwise quiet street. First time I recall mentioning the birds to a passer by - who seemed intent on listening to them also. Lo and behold, she showed me her phone that was identifying the bird species in real time.

Their song is perhaps the most beautiful #birdsong in the world - once heard, never forgotten! It's fluty and mellifluous, and has a deep, delicious richness like nothing else I know. They fill my heart with joy!

Alas, this morning there were fewer there than previous years at the place we go to see and hear them. But we heard two birds, and through the tangle of undergrowth I managed to get a good view in my binoculars.

Astonishingly, I appear to be 21 again!
