The cockerel is one of a group of five young white leghorns. They are very appealing birds to keep. We used to have a white leghorn called ‘Shadowfax’ so have named these girls Filofax and Tampax! The boy we keep has to be Gandalf the White, just because.

The white leghorn cockerels are growing ever more confident. I am reluctant to clip wings but we have a 60mph road nearby so if he keeps this up that’s what I will do.
