"Juries put the moral intuition of ordinary people into the heart of the criminal justice system.
Over the last few years, juries have repeatedly acquitted those taking nonviolent direct action to advance climate and racial justice. These verdicts are deeply embarrassing to the government and the arms and oil industries." Defend Our JuriesRecently, #AnimalRising was acquitted because of moral conscious
Today, we read that David Lammy wants to get rid of juries and bring in swift courts

Human supremacist/speciesist/carnist thought patterns are shockingly similar to fascist ones, you can't be principally against fascism but then pro carnism
In both fascism and carnism there is mentality of:
-Survival of the strongest & most violent (its a kill or be killed world if we didnt do it some other species would have evolved and done it to us)
-Pseuodoscientific classifications of who "feels and thinks more authentically"
-Collaboration with capital to create a systematised killing machine (the nazis took inspiration from factory farms and all the death camps killed non humans too, but the allies didnt free those, only the humans)
-Mocking disregard for the rights and freedoms regarded as other "chickens? with rights?? lol"
-Objectification/Deindividualisation of those regarded as other "a pig is a pig and all pigs are the same"
-Normalisation of violence as a necessary part of life, fascists always paint themself as the victim even as they are mass killing
-Criminalisation of those trying to free the victims (A.L.F. AnimalRising, various undercover farm footage takers)
-Axiomatic deference to the moral superiority of the ingroup ("Human interests always come first", "I'm an unapologetic speciesist", I've even been called a traitor to the human race)
-Sexualisation of the other (generally fascists sexualise those they oppress because they get off on the domination, this I believe is the same reason farm animals like cows and pigs and horses and sexualised its about control)
-Infantilisation of the other ("They would be lost without us", "they have one bad day", "I love my animals on my farm", these attitudes mirror how fascists treat women in particular but fascists also infantilise men in a roundabout way by feeding their insecurities)

You may have wondered why #PalestineAction is connected to Defend our Juries
It is because Juries can make a decision based on moral judgement. Such a thing happened today where 5 members of #AnimalRising were acquitted for causing a public nuisance at the ##GrandNational 2003 meeting because they successfully convinced the jury that #horseracing caused:
"Needless suffering"
This now means that NO horse meeting is MORALLY ACCEPTABLE
🥳
-
#AnimalRising said that during the trial they had successfully argued that their concern for the lives and welfare of horses provided a justifiable reason for their actions.
The Jury agreed ! 🥳
This is a great victory for #animalrights over the cruel and evil act of #HorseRacing

Disruptive, non-violent direct action works. Petitions and marches don’t. New research. Nearly seven in 10 of academics surveyed rated disruptive protest tactics as “at least quite important” to success of a movement, ranking it as more important than gaining media coverage or even strictly avoiding violent tactics. #NVDA #ExtinctionRebellion #JustStopOil #AnimalRising #Orcas #Suffragettes https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jul/07/disruptive-protest-helps-not-hinders-activists-cause-experts-say

News from #AnimalRising
Yesterday, supporters of Animal Rising gathered at Towcester Racecourse to protest the Greyhound Derby. After entering the racecourse from the stands and over the perimeter wall, 13 people were arrested for trying to protect the greyhounds forced to race. We saw a beautiful dog, Bombay The Best, injured during one of them; it is unclear whether or not he was killed as a result. This was a stark and heartbreaking reminder of why we take action.

Once and once only I went back to the other place to see the replies to #AnimalRising's messages.
I was staggered, ashamed and disgusted as to how people could be so vile, nasty and puerile in their replies.
I do not remember it being that bad two years ago.
I shan't make that mistake again 😞
