New learnings. I reset the AirPods Pro 3 and reconnected and they were back to not resuming play at all. It seems if I have "Connect to This iPhone" set to "Automatically", play/resume doesn't work at all, but I'm having good success when the AirPods have been reset and that setting is set to "When Last Connected to This iPhone".

Going to keep testing on and off as I didn't turn any features on when re-pairing (no turning head to control, etc.) #AirPodsPro3

I know this comes off. It’s the first world problem and it absolutely is, but if I’m gonna pay this much for a device, I do expect it to work. Hopefully, some solution will present itself. The solution just better not be, don’t use the stems as that’s not an option. #AirPodsPro3

I finally got around to buying AirPods Pro 3 and I’m curious, if anyone is seeing an issue we’re clicking the stem intermittently won’t unpause. It pauses the first try every time but resuming usually takes two or three clicks.

Claude is telling me there is an intermittent bug in iOS 26, but I haven’t been able to confirm that. Unfortunately, this is a big enough deal that I would return it as defective if I can’t sort through it as I use the stems all the time on my AirPods Pro 2. Probably going to reach out to Apple, but I thought I would ask here.
