Unstable stream update: 8th July 2028
A smaller stream update today, though no less important!
Updates for Nvidia users with improved DLSS support, better sleep and wake from suspend functionality. Overall the Nvidia experience on AerynOS is improving with the additional feedback we are getting from testers!
Openssh configuration has been improved and better set up for our Stateless approach and allowing users to set up their configurations as required.
The full changelog can be found at our GitHub discussions:

Mini status update: 1st July 2026
We have spoken about our Versioned Repositories, phase 2 goal for months now and due to the awesome work of Tarkah and ermo, this was landed a little over a week ago to our volatile stream. Further infrastructure upgrades are in the pipeline and we will expand on it all in a future blog post.
We have landed new kernels (7.1 series), new DE versions (Plasma 6.7, Cosmic 1.2 and Gnome 50.3) amongst a load of other updates. In addition to that, Reilly has done a fairly extensive rework of our systemd package and how it works.
We need to let all these changes simmer for a few more days along with a little more testing of the Versioned Repositories, phase 2 code upgrades, before we sync our volatile stream contents to our unstable stream.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Unstable Stream Updates: 10th June 2026
Notable updates include JACK sound support added via Pipewire and OpenZFS file system support added via a kernel module.
We have wider updates to the Cosmic, KDE and GNOME stacks + loads more!
https://github.com/orgs/AerynOS/discussions/165
On a separate note, the AerynOS Stripe one-off donation link was disabled last week as it was subject to a card testing attack. The issue is resolved and the link is re-enabled again.
These sorts of attacks impact the projects ability to collect donations to help cover project costs and save up for future project investment. If you like the work we are doing, please consider donating to the project.
