Real-Time with Auto-Pause sounds like the dumbest of all worlds for a #crpg combat system.
But I think it might be interesting to explore.
The game has command mode, in which all characters stay in place inactive and you can give commands to your characters, and which will be active until you press spacebar.
And then it switches to combat mode where all characters will fight according to their last command, and last for 5 or 10 seconds. -
As someone who's never really given much thought to writing stories for a videogame, making my first game an RPG is perhaps a bit of an odd choice. (Though I am tending more towards a very systemic game like Jagged Alliance 2 or Kenshi.)
But I know that my biggest frustration with writing in RPGs is always when you have to choose between two options that both are not acceptable to my character and I can see a third choice but the game isn't offering it.

With ADHD, I have learned that it helps me a lot to begin the design of anything game related by pinning down a one or two sentence definition of what I want to make when inspiration hits me. Regularly looking at the definition again to check if I am still on track helps me not getting lost in the weeds creating things at random without a plan.
But I now think defining #Kaendor as a Bronze Age fantasy world was an error that might have held me back for years.

I really, really liked Bumblebee. I liked it a lot. It’s Short Circuit meets Iron Giant and features cute heroes being brave. I liked it very much. It’s nice to be excited about Transformers again!

"Having bumblebees nesting in the garden is a great way to learn about them. If you have a nest, you may at first just see a single queen carrying food to the nest, which she stores for her future offspring. Providing nesting sites for bumblebees can be as simple as just leaving a quiet spot somewhere such as a corner or behind a shed, and letting the weeds and grass grow tall. But if you want to go further than that, you could try making a bumblebee nest space yourself. We have teamed with up with the people at Hartley Botanic to produce this guide for making bumblebee nests. It may seem strange to think about nesting bumblebees in late summer, but if you make one now you may find that mice will use it over the autumn and winter. Bumblebee queens searching for nests actually seek the scent of mice when looking for nests. Having the mice in residence now could increase your chances of having your very own bumblebee nest next year.

How to Make Herb Infused #TallowSalve

1 1/2 cups grass fed tallow balm
1/4 cup dried comfrey leaf
1/4 cup dried plantain leaf
1/4 cup dried calendula flowers
1/4 cup dried chickweed leaf
2 tbsp beeswaxDirections:
- Melt tallow balm over a gentle heat until it is liquid.
- Pour needed amount of tallow balm into a quart mason jar.
- Add dried herbs to liquid tallow balm and stir to incorporate well.
- Create a double boiler by placing the mason jar on a cloth inside a saucepan with water.
- Heat the water until it comes to a low simmer.
- Let the mason jar full of tallow balm and herbs sit in the simmering water for at least 3-4 hours, but much longer is better. I often let mine go 12 hours. Just keep an eye on it and replace water in the pan as it evaporates.
- Strain herbs out of tallow balm using a metal strainer lined with cheesecloth.
- Put the jar of herb infused tallow balm back into the double boiler, and return it to the gentle simmer.
- Add the beeswax to the herb infused tallow balm.
- Once beeswax is melted, stir to combine well.
- Pour hot mixture into tins or jars to store.
- Allow tins to sit until salve is solid.
- Put lids on containers and store in a cool, dark place."Full article:
