  1. #bookishadvent day 17, #smallpress edition is "Vanishing Monuments" by John Elizabeth Stintzi , a trans #canlit novel published by Arsenal Pulp Press! Stintzi expertly weaves multiple narratives to construct the memory palace at the fulcrum of the novel, asking what it means to live, grieve, haunt, and be haunted by a past that won't go away.

I had the honor of interviewing JES about the book back in 2020!

  2. belated #bookishadvent , #smallpress edition, day 14, is "Event Factory" by Renee Gladman, from @Dorothyproject ! This insightful, magical maze of a book is unlike anything I've read before, and equally, is a stunning entry into a long tradition of books-as-cities-as stories-as languages. I can't recommend it enough.

    #bookishAdvent Day 4
Em and the Big Hoom by Jerry Pinto

This the raw-est account you'll find on #mentalheaIth in #india. #psychiatricdiseases especially, that too in a #middleclass family in #mumbai .But this is also #witty and there's occasional #warmth as well. For such a small book, there's so much said without saying.

  6. My first time posting for #JukeboxFridayNight & I love the theme - #BookishBeats, so thank you kind stranger for that!

I've chosen Not in Kansas by The National, a song I love! The obvious reference is to The Wizard of Oz, but the act of reading itself is mentioned, along with the bible and The GodFather.

    Enya - Book Of Days
One day, one night, one moment,
    My dreams could be, tomorrow.
One step, one fall, one falter,
East or west, over earth or by ocean.
One way to be my journey,
This way could be my Book of Days.

  13. @[email protected] I had set up a while ago, which is easy to with and I believe there are a bunch of public instances as well 🦘

I use for syncing articles to my , and while it's nothing near the nicely streamlined interface Kobo had going, there is which lets me download Wallabag articles as ePub files for reading. I'm still hoping for an official replacement but I suppose something is better than nothing ⬇️

  14. CW: Bookish Advent Day1

The Language of Roses by @heatherrosejones What if Beauty and the Beast, but the Beast is an irredeemable asshole and the Beauty's both repelled and aromantic? What if the real love story is between the last people you'd expect? There are many kinds of love, and even more ways to be saved. A surprising, darkly beautiful novella with strong friendship and an f/f romance at its heart. #BookishAdvent #DecRecs #SmallPressBigStories @lgbtqbookstodon
