  4. GlobalTalk admins using non-standard Ethernet interfaces in System 7.1...

Can you please PM a screenshot of your Network and MacTCP settings (first screen only for MacTCP, examples attached) – 1 bit B/W preferred.

I'm wanting to make my AIR manual addendum, and GlobalTalk setup instructions and files more generic.

I'd also be interested in which Ethernet drivers were necessary to get your interface to work with AIR under System 7.1.

Lastly, I'm interested in having a chat with users of Snow, mini vMac, Basilisk II, and other non-QEMU emulators about GlobalTalk connection requirements and setup in System 7.1.

I will credit contributions, of course!

    Thank you, and boosts appreciated!

  8. interested in any tips on how to get the IIci connected to Netatalk..

im on System 7.5.3 and using BlueSCSI's DaynaPort emulation with Open Transport 1.3. my router is a GL-iNet Flint2 with OpenWRT, which is supposed to handle AppleTalk over wifi.

my AFP share shows up in Chooser, but when trying to log in i just get this error (the credentials are correct, there is a different error if i mistype them) #MARCHintosh #Netatalk #BlueSCSI

  11. WLAN driver

Robert Smith's "DaynaPORT" driver uses the WLAN emulation available in the SD-based SCSI ‘drives’ ZuluSCSI and BlueSCSI to connect any Amiga with a SCSI host to the network. Version 1.3 fixes a problem with downloading large files, among other things.

  12. Well, it turns out that it doesn't matter that my BlueSCSI is due to arrive today, because I went and installed the CIRTECH SCSI card in my IIgs and it let out the magic smoke.

I put it into Slot 7, made sure it was seated, then switched on the computer. There was a weird crackle, a puff of sweet-smelling smoke escaped from the card, and the computer shut down.

  13. Again on the #powerbook 170: i'm trying to understand how the heck should I set the #bluescsi #termination #jumpers. The website http://dehij.hiddej.nl/ is offline. I could find it on the #waybackmachine , but it doesn't load...
BTW, I found a schematic on https://github.com/dehij/powerbook-bluescsi . That's the v2 schematic, but it seems very similar to the v1.1a I've got (they changed only some footprints, I believe). I see I can, using the jumpers, set the #SCSI #SCSI_IO pin to 5v, to ground or to #TERM_PWR (that's another SCSI pin). I unerstand I should terminate the bus, as there's no other devices connected, but I really have no clue on how I should set those jumpers....
  14. Six months after the #HP 715/80, I now have its successor, the #Visualize B180L+, up and running.
It runs at 180MHz and has 1MB of L2 external cache and 256MB of RAM.

Unfortunately, the original hard drive is dead and I don't have any other Ultra-Wide-SE drive, so I put a #bluescsi on the Narrow-SE bus.

I am incredibly lucky that the video cable has not been lost after all these years! The video connector looks a lot like DVI but is actually EVC, not quite the same.

  23. For #MARCHintosh2023, I’m working on restoring a #MacLC III. During that restoration, I need to replace the original Quantum SCSI drive with a #BlueSCSI v1.

If your recollection of SCSI details from Mac that you used in the 1990s is a bit foggy - like mine is - you will want to read this brief clip from the Apple Introduction to SCSI Concepts, Chapter 3:

  24. Argh. My Apple #IIgs just decided to give me a scare. I switched it on and it wouldn't boot from any disk (BlueSCSI or FloppyEmu), going directly to the boot menu.

The boot settings were all as I'd left them (time and date, boot slot etc.), but I opened it up to check the ROM battery anyway.

My IIgs came to me with the old lithium cell cut out, and I've replaced that with a pair of AA alkaline cells. Don't worry, they sit on the floor of the case, can't ever leak onto anything.

  25. Finally, the #MiSCUSI is released!
    codeberg.org/hkzlab/MiSCUSI_Ap

For the newcomers, it's a rebuild of the Apple II #SCSI card, made with SMD components.

Tested it on my #Delta Apple //e clone with a #BlueSCSI

Thanks to #PCBWay for sponsoring this, and thanks to @DosFox for testing the PLD dumps on his card!

As usual, if you like my projects and have some credits to spare, you can throw me a few via Ko-Fi. It's not strictly necessary, but all go towards the next projects (instead of using what's left after I have fed and medicated the cat colony I inherited...).
