Do all dating apps suck? Is there one that you would recommend to a queer friend in the NYC area?

Not going to toot about the weather.
Not going to toot about the weather.Screw that. This sucks. This has been nearly a month of sucktastic hot and humid stupidity. My body hates it. I can't understand how anyone actually likes it.
I think the only people who like this are either insane or have stock in an electric company.

CW: CW - Movie has all the triggers.
Watched "Will And Harper" -
I'm not a big Will Farrell fan. Always felt that he had his moments but I was never running to see his films.
With that out of the way, I enjoyed the movie. I also cried and wanted to scream at points. So yeah, all that and then some.
The part about how Harper found her name really stuck with me. I've tried various forms of "J" to, as she says, make it easy for those who I know and work with. I've never really settled on a version.
And when she talks about therapists. And feeling like the "weird" kid in school. And trying to find a place to run off to and hide. And boobs. And more moments...
I really hope people watch this movie with an open mind. Will Farrell is Will Farrell in it. Just remember, he gets to ask some questions because he's her friend. He's not asking the questions to some random trans person.
Be careful with it too. She does talk about suicide.

Working through a training session that is based on videos. Much of the information would be better distributed through a document.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't retain much of the information I learn from videos. Hand me the document when I need to implement the commands.

I've heard many #trumpet players live in concert from Maynard, to Faddis, to Morrison, and many others.
There is no player that sounds like Arturo. His tone is HUGE.
At this point, he does have kind of a "schtick". It's worth putting up with it if you get the chance to hear him live.

I'm sad that I just watched the last episode of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel".
While it had its faults, I truly enjoyed watching the show. The acting, writing, costumes, sets, scenery, and every little detail were done to perfection. You could see the care put into each and every scene. Plus some really great music choices.
It is also a show that's unapologetically Jewish and about New York City. I felt this connection where I was watching a story that my grandparents, parents, and their friends might have lived. My grandfather actually did own an apartment on the Upper West Side in the 50's. My parents used to tell stories about summers in the Catskills.
I was amazed by the pilot and I've, obviously, enjoyed the run. Here's to the writers getting what they need, and deserve, to get back to writing shows that can transport us to another time and feel the joy.

Right after the nightmare that happened in January, I decided to take a trip back to the 80's and rewatch "The Americans". I just finished the final episode.
While I do highly, highly recommend it to just about anyone, there are groups of people that it will hit harder than others. It's a show about loyalty to one's ideas. Our ideas about country, family, religion, parenting, friendship, and the American way.
It can also be a very violent show so I'm sure that's not for everyone. But, if you need an escape back to what seemed to be a simpler time, there is so much to love about the show. The acting is incredible. The music cues are spot on. The 80's tech and cars are perfect. It also has one of the best TV series finales that I've seen.
Be careful if you decide to watch an episode. You may just need to watch some more.

National Coming Out Day post with a link to HRC.org in a LGBTQ+ Teams channel at work that I helped to start?
You know it!! Let's fucking go and make sure our community knows we're here.

Just put a reminder in my calendar to go vote on Tuesday morning. I could do early voting today but my election day place is fine and within walking distance.
Please understand what is at stake in this election. I know you might not love the Democratic candidate. If this state goes red, you're going to like that even less.
If you consider yourself an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, the choice should be pretty clear.

I wonder sometimes if I like some shows and movies better than others because I have a full surround sound system in my living room.
Current "whoa" surround mixing examples:
- Alien:Earth S1E3 - last 5 minutes.
- Sinners - that music scene -

Pro tip - Replying all on a large distribution email thread and asking to be "Unsubscribed" or removed doesn't work.
Simple tip - Just delete the email.

People keep scheduling deliverables and meetings for the next two weeks. I get that the business world doesn't stop for holidays. The catch is that the good majority of US workers do take off at least a little bit of time over these two weeks.
Good managers/teammates understand the extra effort required. Bad ones just keep asking for stuff.
Are you on the "good list"?

Some happy #FridayFeeling for you.
This album, to me, is so listenable and puts a smile on my face every time a track comes up on one of my playlists. You can feel the #joy of the music in every track.
