Extra points go to the careful consideration of Spain's Galicia as a better takeoff location for orbit insertion (that one IS rocket science).

Then again, the real-world space flight countdown almost every living human knows today was invented for a movie to add drama to the takeoff scene - in Fritz Lang's 1929 movie "Frau im Mond". People love stories.

It's more than just testing regulation, it has to do with billing and insurance, too.
It's worth noting that this regulatory structure is what also kept the USA from widespread use of thalidomide for morning sickness in the 1950's.

Hoopla, on the other hand provides the same collection to everyone who has access funded by their local library.
