The Word for World Is Forest -

Good overview, but inherits some of Hare's original sin of splitting psychopathy into two "factors" that are very different qualitatively, but then bundling them back together as one when he builds his checklist. That means that factor-2 dominate selection because of the lack of control, criminal record, and explosive violence.

Also reads like she is a dating coach or an HR person

I’ve been told, and personally verified, that Kanopy has what your local library system puts in there. Everyone doesn’t have access to the same material.

Hoopla, on the other hand provides the same collection to everyone who has access funded by their local library.

If you are not aware this is a library supported service that has Ebooks, Audiobooks, Comics, Music, and video content all for the borrowing - with some limits depending on your library. My library allows 5 items/month and there's a daily community limit - so you might need to borrow early in the day.

#NowReading The Locked Room by Elly Griffiths

I tore through the “Ruth Galloway” series a few months back, but stopped reading partway through this book. The next to last in the run, I had long since noted how formulaic the books had become, although I still liked the characters. I’m waiting for my library hold for the next Charles Todd mystery to come up, so I decided to finish the Griffiths books while I wait.

One plot element that I’m heartily tired of is the main character’s love life. And I’m not fond of how religion is used to increase turmoil between characters, or just as a plot device.

Also, in the earlier books, Shit Goes On In Chapter Twenty-One. Although, this book has many shorter chapters, so it may be Shit Happens To Ruth in Chapter The Forty-Twoth.

When I resume reading the Charles Todd books, I’ll be comparing the writing to the Griffiths books, watching for patterns.
