My 15YO granddaughter just texted and asked me to send her a pic of “my favorite airplane.” I wanted to send her 34,000 pics of all of them, but in the interest of SMS overcharges, narrowed it down to this one.
I flew with the #Duggy crew into Rock Falls, IL for the “Last Time” DC-3/C-47 reunion, and then was on the flight deck as they flew the Warbird Island arrival to RWY 27 into Oshkosh. We waved at the #avgeeks on the Ardy and Ed’s patio as we slid overhead.

Full Noise was to campaign at the #AirRaces in 2024 however she will likely not see #Reno again after the announcement this year’s event will be the last held there. Two Gippsland Fatman agricultural aircraft of local firm Patchett Ag-Air performed a very smart display on Easter Sunday. This was a truly surreal experience. I’d first read of John Smith’s legendary collection when I was seven or so, and now I was sitting in his Mosquito. I was still shaking two hours later. The third John Smith aircraft was the aforementioned De Havilland Mosquito. Very successful raffles were run over the weekend where the prize was to sit in the cockpit during an engine run. While I was buying tickets for one of these raffles Al Marshall, the head of the restoration project, happened to walk in and see me - that night he took me aside and invited me for a closer look on Sunday... #Omaka #ClassicFighters2023 #avgeek #warbirds #airshow

This WWII vintage Link trainer, is the only Warbird I can honestly claim to have flown. My high-school had one almost exactly like this, lovingly restored and fully operational. It's a full motion flying simulator (instruments only, thus the blacked out canopy), and effectively driven by an analog computer. An amazing piece of technology.
